TT Series round 7

There was a heightened sense of optimism of PB’s falling like ball bearings out of a wheel hub as the evening promised low wind and a dry day. Unfortunately having zero wind can actually be detrimental as it means the rider is pushing into the wind at whatever speed you are riding in both direction as opposed to having that gentle push in one direction.

Sometimes you’ve just got to hunker down, get low and grind it out!

Top hunkerers this week were Lincsquadders Steve Grocock and Julian Hesp with 1st and second respectively. Good to see a few Lindsey Roads returning to try our 9.8 mile course with M Clark making third followed by the waifs and strays of 53/11 ex Lincsquadders/I might re-join/do I still have to Marshall dynamic duo Rick Stenton and Sheehan Quirke. rounding out the top 5

Good to see Jack Garner returning to race our TT course once again.

Melanie Hayward was the fastest lady followed by the ever smiling Pam Challen and the equally cheerful Rita Mooney.

Official nod of approval/tip of the aero hat to our helper elves Kezz “have I mentioned I’m going on a cruise?” Padley, Cathy and rob Walsh, Anna Gibbs, Jess Porte, Duncan Wood, Matt Austin, Fiona Fisk, Wal Kent, Martin Mcloughlin, Phil Carter. Heroes every single one of you.

Next week………… Leg of Steel hill climb. Park at the bottom of Burton Stather hill to register and start. Hill climb TT’s are a condensed concentrated version of the usual TT. It still hurts….just not for as long 😉
